Site Support Staff
Ages: 25+
Camp Suisse is looking for proactive, flexible individuals to join our Support Staff team. This is an active, diverse role ideal for all-rounders, people who are equally happy behind the wheel, fixing things, assisting with camp logistics, and stepping in wherever support is needed. A strong work ethic, a hands-on attitude, and a willingness to contribute across various departments are essential.
You’ll play a key role in keeping camp operations running smoothly, supporting everything from maintenance and logistics to transportation and camper care. If you’re practical, responsible, and thrive in a busy, outdoor environment, this could be the perfect seasonal role for you.
Location: The role is predominantly based at our main camp in Les Crosets, a stunning but remote mountain village in the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery, Les Crosets offers the perfect environment for us to operate our camp, but has minimal local facilities in the summer. We also run camps in alternative locations, so you may be required to relocate for short periods to deliver your role elsewhere throughout the season.
Key Duties:
1. Communication
- Liaise daily with camp management and department heads to understand operational priorities and respond to requests for assistance.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with campers, staff, and guests, especially when driving or supporting activities.
- Represent Camp Suisse in a polite, friendly, and helpful manner during transfers, errands, and off-site visits.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or completed tasks promptly to the appropriate manager.
2. Driving, Maintenance & Operational Support
- Carry out regular driving duties, which may include airport transfers, supply runs, laundry collection, equipment delivery, and private transfers.
- Support loading/unloading vehicles, managing camper luggage, and transporting goods between locations.
- Perform basic vehicle checks and ensure company vehicles are kept clean and in good working order.
- Conduct minor maintenance and odd jobs as required across camp buildings, facilities, and equipment.
- Assist in other departments when needed—this may include basic cleaning, kitchen tasks, or activity support.
- Run and record regular safety inspections for vehicles, equipment, and other infrastructure.
- Navigate narrow Alpine roads and rough tracks with care and confidence, possibly using 4×4 vehicles and trailers.
- Maintain storage areas and ensure equipment is well-organised, secure, and ready for use.
3. Participation & Teamwork
- Fully participate in staff induction and ongoing training.
- Work closely with all departments to support daily camp operations.
- Step into varied roles as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the camp.
- Assist with arrivals, departures, and special events, including logistics and set-up.
- Embrace the spirit of teamwork and contribute positively to camp culture.
- Support the health, safety, and welfare of campers and staff throughout the season.
- Be a supportive and positive member of the team, ready to help colleagues and contribute to a friendly, inclusive environment.
Personal requirements / characteristics:
This role requires individuals who are highly adaptable, practical, and self-motivated. You must be able to work independently and as part of a wider team. A full driving licence is essential, and experience driving in alpine or off-road conditions is highly desirable. Trailer experience is also an advantage. You should be physically fit and capable of lifting, moving, and handling equipment. Skills in general maintenance, building, or basic vehicle upkeep are strongly preferred. Above all, you should be a team player who is reliable, flexible, and ready to step in wherever needed to ensure the smooth running of camp operations.
Remuneration:
- Accommodation
- Three meals per day
- Entrance / admissions / equipment relating to all activities in which you participate
- Competitive salary
- Some in-house training
- Accident Insurance
