Financial Protection

Financial security for packages

The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require travel companies to provide security for the monies that consumers pay for certain types and combinations of travel arrangements booked with them and for consumers’ repatriation in the event of their insolvency. Unless we notify you that a different form of financial protection applies to your booking, we provide this protection in two different ways:

1. Funds paid for all individual camp places are paid directly into a trust account administered by independent trustees, Serenity Travel Trusts. Funds are held there until after your package arrangements have been completed.

2. Funds paid for group trips are insured with Affirma a trading brand of MGA Cover Services Limited. These funds are in some cases paid into the same Trust accounts as in 1) above and are insured for the period of time between their release from Trust and the end of the trip. In other cases the funds are insured in their entirety from the date of receipt to the end date of the trip.

This means that in respect of all arrangements requiring protection, in the event of our insolvency, funds will be available to ensure that clients are not left stranded abroad or that you receive a refund of the money you have paid to us. If you book arrangements other than a package, your monies will not be financially protected. Please ask us for further details.
