Front of House / Bar Staff (French-Speaking)

Camp Suisse Ski is looking for friendly, well-motivated individuals who are passionate about the bar / catering industry. You must be a good team player who is at ease working with a range of individuals. You will be required to liaise with campers, group leaders, pastoral staff and guests about food allergies and special dietary needs and with our team of chefs about ingredients, menu plans, food stocks and HACCP. This role is suitable for someone who has experience as a bar staff, barista or waiter/waitress.  This role requires a confident, hands-on person who is fluent in French and English, and who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.

Key Duties:

1. Communication

  • Serve as the main point of contact for guest queries relating to food and beverage services.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with all team members to coordinate bar services and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Report promptly to management on any issues or concerns related to bar/ food service, staffing, or guest requirements.
  • Engage confidently with guests and hotel visitors, particularly in French, to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Manage guest relations in a courteous, professional and proactive manner.

2. Bar Service Operations & Kitchen Support

  • Serve guests directly at the bar and in the restaurant, including preparing hot drinks, cocktails, and other beverages.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations of the restaurant and bar areas, including cleanliness, set-up and service standards.
  • Take guest orders at the till, process payments, and follow cash handling procedures.
  • Liaise with kitchen and catering teams regarding menu, food allergens and special diets.

3. Participation & Teamwork

  • Fully participate in staff induction and ongoing training.
  • Work collaboratively across kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver seamless dining experiences.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in responding to the fast-paced camp environment and evolving service demands.
  • Contribute to a positive, helpful, and proactive working atmosphere throughout the season.
  • Be a supportive and positive member of the team, ready to help colleagues and contribute to a friendly, inclusive environment.

Personal requirements / characteristics:

The ideal candidate will be fluent in both spoken French and English, as this is essential for communicating effectively with guests and staff. You should have competence in bar services, including cocktail and coffee preparation, alongside a solid understanding of food service operations, allergen management and HACCP protocols.  You must be able to work pro-actively, problem-solve effectively and work on your own initiative. You must be comfortable multitasking, working under pressure and maintaining high attention to detail. We are looking for dynamic people who are easy-going and fun to work with, as well as professional and punctual. You must also be able to speak French comfortably to engage with guests and members of the public in the hotel. Familiarity with till systems and cash handling procedures is essential.
