Each trip provides students with the opportunity to practise their language skills in real life situations. Whilst also their broadening cultural awareness, we enrich understanding of Swiss and European culture. Best of all, since we build your modern foreign languages trip around you, it’s possible to mix and match any of our cultural excursions, Alpine activities and structured language classes to provide the most appropriate balance for your group.

Château de Chillon  

Chateau-de-Chillon_©-minnystock-DreamstimeThis island castle, at the eastern end of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman), is Switzerland’s most visited monument. With origins back in the Bronze Age, Chillon was built in this strategic location to guard the passage through the Alpine passes, separating northern and southern Europe.

Évian-les-Bains local market  

37354439_1975733152458137_2873387641338855424_nThis thriving French town on the shore of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman), home to the famous Évian mineral water, is a lively shopping and market town. Every Tuesday and Friday morning Évian comes alive with the market bursting with local produce. Try Savoyard cheese (Tomme, Abondance, Reblochon), charcuterie, fish caught in the lake, other regional produce and many arts and crafts stands with a variety of products.

International Olympic Museum, Lausanne  

IOCEverything Olympics! This newly renovated and highly interactive museum is spread over 3,000m2 on three levels, covering three major themes, told through 1,500 objects and seven hours of audio-visual and interactive presentation, telling the story from the ancient to the modern games over 3000 years of history. Located in Lausanne on the shore of Lac Léman.

Overnight camp in Alpine gîte

Take a mountain hike through cow-filled pastures to our Alpine gîte. Learn about the natural flora and fauna with our local mountain guides. Undertake a range of team building games and experience a truly pristine Alpine farming environment.

Lac Léman boat ride

Camp Suisse says: “A great way to travel between the local markets in Evian-les-Bains, France to the International Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.”

 

 

The Red Cross Museum, Geneva  

Visit the museum and headquarters of the international humanitarian movement, the Red Cross. The museum explains the ‘Humanitarian Adventure’ and focuses, through a range of exhibits, on three contemporary issues that are of concern to each of us today – defending human dignity, restoring family links and reducing natural risks.

Gruyères excursion  

IMG_5468Step back in time to this beautiful and culturally diverse region famed for its cheese and chocolate industries. Visit the medieval town of Gruyères, a place truly unaffected by the passage of time, and take a tour of the Cailler-Nestlé Chocolate Factory and the Gruyères Cheese Factory.

United Nations (Palais des Nations), Geneva 

Take a tour of the of the Palais des Nations – the second largest United Nations centre after the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Tours are available in target languages and cover the history, structure and current activities of the United Nations and the United Nations Office at Geneva, as well as related information on the Palais des Nations and its surroundings.

Glacier 3000, Les Diablerets  

IMG_0520 (640x427)Learn about glaciers in one of the most beautiful natural environments on earth. Activities include husky dog sledding, chairlift and cable car rides, bum boarding on snow, the Tissot Peak Walk and whizzing down the Alpine Coaster, the highest toboggan run in the world.

Camp Suisse language classes

Classes can be designed to suit the aims of your trip. We like our classes to be lively and interactive in keeping with our firm ethos of encouraging learning outside the classroom.
