Site Support Staff
Ages: 25+
Camp Suisse is looking for proactive, flexible individuals to join our Support Staff team. This is an active, diverse role ideal for all-rounders, people who are equally happy behind the wheel, fixing things, assisting with camp logistics, and stepping in wherever support is needed. A strong work ethic, a hands-on attitude, and a willingness to contribute across various departments are essential.
You’ll play a key role in keeping camp operations running smoothly, supporting everything from maintenance and logistics to transportation and camper care. If you’re practical, responsible, and thrive in a busy, outdoor environment, this could be the perfect seasonal role for you.
Location: The role is predominantly based at our main camp in Les Crosets, a beautiful family-friendly ski resort in the Swiss Alps. We also run ski camps in alternative locations, so you may be required to relocate for short periods to deliver your role elsewhere throughout the season.
Key Duties:
1. Communication
1. Communication
- Coordinate daily with the management team and department heads to respond to maintenance requests, logistical needs, and transport requirements.
- Communicate clearly with campers, staff, and external guests during transfers and support tasks.
- Maintain a professional, approachable manner when interacting with parents, teachers, and visitors.
- Report any maintenance issues, health and safety risks, or incidents promptly and accurately to management.
2. Driving, Maintenance & Winter Operations
- Carry out scheduled and ad hoc driving duties including: airport transfers, equipment deliveries, supply runs, laundry collection, hospital/doctor visits, and private transfers.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, food, and equipment; help transport items between storage areas and camp facilities.
- Perform routine safety checks and upkeep of company vehicles, including snow-ready 4x4s and trailers.
- Conduct building and facility maintenance—performing basic repairs, checks, and odd jobs across the site.
- Clear snow from around the hotel and camp buildings using snow shovels, salt, and machinery when appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in workspaces, vehicle interiors, storage areas, and external camp grounds.
- Follow proper safety protocols at all times, especially in hazardous winter conditions.
3. Participation & Teamwork
- Fully participate in staff induction and ongoing training.
- Support other departments as needed. This may include occasional kitchen help, cleaning, or assisting during camper events and changeovers.
- Be a flexible and dependable team player, ready to step in wherever operational needs arise.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute feedback to improve camp logistics and support systems.
- Take responsibility for camper safety and welfare during all operational interactions (e.g. transport, building access, etc.).
- Contribute to a positive, helpful, and proactive working atmosphere throughout the season.
- Be a supportive and positive member of the team, ready to help colleagues and contribute to a friendly, inclusive environment.
Personal requirements / characteristics:
This role requires individuals who are highly adaptable, practical, and self-motivated. You must be able to work independently and as part of a wider team. A full driving licence is essential, and experience driving in alpine or off-road conditions is highly desirable. In addition, the roads can often be covered in snow, so an understanding of such conditions and winter driving skills are desirable. Trailer experience is also an advantage. You should be physically fit and capable of lifting, moving, and handling equipment. Skills in general maintenance, building, or basic vehicle upkeep are strongly preferred. Above all, you should be a team player who is reliable, flexible, and ready to step in wherever needed to ensure the smooth running of camp operations.
Remuneration:
- Accommodation for the duration of your contract
- Three meals per day
- Entrance / admissions / equipment relating to all activities in which you participate as part of your role
- Competitive salary
- Accident Insurance
