Today was a fun day for Green Group as it was their day at the Aqua Parc! After a filling breakfast, our campers jumped on the coach, ready for an exciting day of water-related fun!
Once at the Aqua Parc, our campers were told the Aqua Parc rules, changed into their swimming costumes, and then headed to ‘base camp’ to set up a Camp Suisse meeting point. Once base camp was established, our campers headed off to enjoy the Aqua Parc!
Our campers had plenty of time to explore the whole park and try all of the slides, rides and different swimming pools. Our campers returned to Camp Suisse at 5:30 pm, just in time for Shower Hour and a delicious dinner of Thai Chicken Curry!
After dinner, our campers played a multi-lingual, giant game of Scrabble, in which words in any of the Camp Suisse languages (English, French, German and Spanish) were accepted.
What a great day for Green Group!

As Thursday was our last full day of camp, there were a few very special things that our campers had to. To begin: Mission Day! The Operation: Black Socks commenced in the morning, mixing the whole camp and dividing them into squadrons. Then each squadron was briefed on their objectives and off they marched.
The mission consisted of several tasks, all of which were designed to put our campers’ acquired skills to the test… The Camp Suisse centre was buzzing and filled with changes and laughter! Our campers finished their mission with an epic rocket launch race. Afterwards, it was ‘decontamination’ time and our campers headed to get washed up, ready for a formal dinner, followed by a Hollywood-themed prom!
After dinner, the winners of Mission Day and other activities were announced and given their awards. The dance started soon thereafter and everyone danced, enjoying themselves on their last night at camp. To finish the dance, our campers did one last Camp Suisse chant, loud and proud. It was most definitely a great end to a great camp session!

Today was another great and enjoyable day for Green Group. After a yummy breakfast, Green and Yellow Groups could choose to either go outdoor rock climbing, or take part in some art jamming (arts and crafts fun).
The Green Group members who chose rock climbing were taught some useful climbing techniques by our ever-talented activity leaders. With the advice of our activity leaders under their belts, Green Group members were soon scaling outdoor rock faces and most got to the very top!
The other Green Group members who stayed at camp made some fantastic, creative masterpieces- which are now proudly displayed on the walls of the Camp Suisse Centre. Our campers got to enjoy some good music as they created their masterpieces in the sun.
After an extensive buffet lunch, our campers had their last language lessons and campers practised their songs for karaoke night on Wednesday.
Our campers had an Indian-inspired meal of korma and naan bread, followed by a staff v. campers football match to round off an exciting day here at camp. To top it all off, our campers managed to succeed in beating the staff, which was a great end to a great day for our campers!

Today was another beautiful, sunny day in the Swiss Alps. The first thing on today’s agenda was a hike to Lake Taney. After applying liberal amounts of sunscreen and packing away their lunches, our campers headed off at 9am. The sunny weather put everyone in good spirits and our campers cheerfully walked onwards, at one point even travelling through a herd of cows! After that experience, it was decided that we would stop so that our campers could regain some of their energy, before one last push to complete the final leg of the journey.
Green Group reached Lake Taney at 2:30pm. There, they were met with beautiful views of the cyrstal-clear water of the lake. Despite the weather cooling off somewhat, some campers and staff took a swim in the lake. Some of our campers even had ice cream!
The buses picked everyone up and on the drive home, almost everybody slept. After a nice, hot shower, a delicious dinner and two hours of making a film in groups, all of the campers happily went to bed, exhausted from the long day.

Today marked the final day of language lessons where campers created projects about various languages and cultures. The afternoon for reds and blues was spent playing sport and then gyll scrambling which involved overcoming various obstacles in the river. The kids had a great time and loved getting wet and muddy! Meanwhile the greens and yellows took part in mountain adventure day where they learnt to put up hammocks and tarps, filter water and build natural shelters! A great day was had by all and some valuable survival lessons learnt. The evening was spent designing and building rockets which was a great success.
9th August 2015
The campers had their first language lesson of the session in the morning with some interesting debates in French about McDonald’s!
After lunch it was time for an afternoon packed full of fun! Whilst the yellows and greens conquered the climbing wall the reds and blues got creative at art jamming!
After a quick afternoon snack the groups swapped over. A few of the yellows had some fun in the forest despite the rain, learning how to slack line. The campers had a well earned dinner before ending the day with some very loud and lively Karaoke!
6th August 2015
After a good camp breakfast, all of the colour groups headed off into the beautiful mountains of the Portes du Soleil. The red and blue group took a slightly shorter route whilst the greens and yellows were able to go on a bit of a longer hike. Thankfully the sun was shining bright, making our hike a lot more enjoyable. Everyone enjoyed lunch on the mountains, before continuing our hike onto the ski hut, which was to be our home for the evening. The late afternoon was spent playing games, dancing to music and chilling out – the rest was much needed after the long day of walking. At dinner time we were joined by our lovely kitchen staff who made us delicious burgers and sausages and chocolate bananas for pudding. After dinner, the red and blue group sang some camping songs whilst the greens and yellows hiked up to the French border and came back by torchlight.
All in all, a great day was had by all.
3rd August 2015
Yesterday the green and yellow groups had an extremely busy day full of everything Camp Suisse has to offer. Firstly after a big breakfast and a kit check it was yellows into the climbing wall and the greens tried their hand at some team building games. Both groups were excellent with the greens excelling and learning what was needed to work in a successful team through some fun games such as spiders web, create climb and bomb disposal. The yellows were in full swing on the climbing wall and managed to learn some skills and complete some of the trickiest routes Camp Suisse has to offer. After a quick break the groups changed over their activity and performed just as well. A good morning all round!
After a lunch with an extremely big choice. The groups were in their language classes learning about their hobbies, families and many other things. The teachers were so impressed some campers were able to win some Nogrots (Camp Suisse currency). The greens and yellows couldn’t wait to tell their group leaders what they had learnt at dinner which was a wonderful Lasagne and ice cream and crumble.
After dinner some went for a hunt around the square to find out some interesting facts about the camp and Torgon while the others played Volleyball.
30th July 2015
We left very excited this morning to indulge in tons of world famous Swiss chocolate at Callier chocolate factory! We enjoyed our side on the bus through the beautiful countryside. In the chocolate factory we learned about the origins of chocolate from the Aztecs to the Swiss revolution of chocolate! During the tour we got to taste freshly made chocolate and buy loads to take home, yummy!
We then went to Gruyère for a lovely lunch in the medieval town! We then strolled down the streets and bought souvenirs.
It was then time to head back to camp for a very busy evening! Firstly, everyone packed their belongings ready for departures tomorrow. Next it was time for racooning, a great Camp Suisse traditional which consists paying to throw yoghurt, water and beans over their favourite Camp Suisse staff! This year all the proceeds go to our charity, The Chloe Mansfield Fund.
Everyone then got dressed up for the ultimate night at Camp, the prom! The theme tonight was Alice in Wonderland. All the staff had spent all day preparing their costumes and decorating the centre into the ultimate wonderland! It was a very memorable night for all the campers, who all exchanged phone numbers and hope to stay in touch! It’s been a wonderful two weeks, we’ll miss you all!

After a good rest for our campers from their long day hiking yesterday we awoke to a yummy cooked breakfast! We then began our decent back to Camp Suisse HQ, even the rain couldn’t dampen our spirits as everyone was anticipating their last minute rehearsals for tonight’s language talent show! Who will win?
All will be revealed later….
