20th July 2016
Today was another lovely day in paradise; it was a beautiful, sunny day here in the Swiss Alps. Everyone was very excited for language lessons since it was time to touch up the performances for Wednesday’s 2016 Talent Showcase.
In the afternoon, Blue and Red Groups were mixed together for some intensely sporty Olympic games. The mixed Blue and Red Group members were divided into different groups representing various countries. The groups proudly waved their countries’ flags and sung their anthems. They had to face each other in a series of sports like rounders, football, capture the flag and hockey.
Everyone gave it a go but in the end, it was Italy who took out the title! By the end of the day, all of our campers were exhausted by – but pleased with – their Olympic efforts!

The early rise this morning was well worth it! Our campers were going to… Glacier 3000! Despite a few grumbles at the 6:15 am breakfast, there was excitement in the air as our campers boarded the bus. Upon arrival, our campers boarded the first of two cable cars, whisking our campers out of the valley and up, and up, and up to 3000 metres above sea level! There was great merriment as campers played in the snow throughout the short (ish) hike to the stunning viewpoint.
The other main attraction of Glacier 3000 is… The world’s highest roller-coaster, which allows riders to control the speed of their two-person carts. Campers had great fun flying down the straights and screeching around corners. The last activity of the excursion was a walk along the Sky Bridge, which our campers did eagerly, snapping a few amazing shots!
After a dinner of cottage pie, followed by warm cookies and ice cream, our campers took part in an evening activity: a quiz. Our campers were engaged in questions that tested their knowledge of sports, music, trivia and facts about Switzerland. The quiz ended yet another successful day here at Camp Suisse!
After a good night’s sleep at the Alpine Refuge, our campers woke up to the sun shining into their rooms. A nice and simple hot breakfast was prepared by our chefs to prepare our campers for the short walk back down to the Camp Suisse centre. After the walk back to the centre, everyone went back to their rooms to quickly pack their swimming costumes because they were going to… The Aqua Parc!
Less than an hour after arriving back from the hike, our campers were all on the bus, heading down the mountain for some Aqua Parc fun!
Once at the Aqua Parc, our campers set up a ‘base camp’, ate their lunches and split up into groups to go around the Aqua Parc with. After a couple of hours of running around, going on the water slides, lazy rivers and swimming, our campers reunited in the changing room and our campers all headed back to the bus.
Our campers were very tired but this did not stop them from participating in evening activities! Our campers went to the football pitch, where they took part in some arty activities. Our campers got creative and wrote Camp Suisse in branches and pine cones, their own bodies, and other such found materials.
After a long, tiring day, our campers went to bed happily!
Our campers woke up at the Alpine Refuge Centre after a fabulous night of camp-fire songs, BBQ dinners and chocolate bananas. Red Group started the day with an adventurous hike back to the Camp Suisse Centre.
Following a speedy bag swap, our campers then boarded the bus to head off for a day at the Aqua Parc! Red Group spent the afternoon swimming and sliding through the water, alongside a picnic in the sun and relaxing in the lazy river.
After the delicious cottage pie for dinner, the Red Group then headed off for an evening of forest fun!
All in all, another jam-packed day here at Camp Suisse!

Today we woke up at 1500m with a beautiful sunrise at camp. Green Group had breakfast outside on top of the sunny mountain before commencing our hike back down the mountain. We reached Camp Suisse at 11 am giving everyone plenty of time for showers and a freshen up before group photos! Some very original poses took place for the photos including a human pyramid and a pile up.
After group photos, hot lunch was served which included baked potatoes, paninis, sandwiches, hot dogs and salads. Following lunch language classes took place for the Yellow & Green Group. Many worked on their karaoke songs and choreography as well. After languages the group got some chill time in shower hour. For dinner there was veggie nuggets, pork and spinach ricotta tortellini followed by ice cream sundaes.
For evening entertainment Green Group had a murder mystery night. The needed to solve the murder of Chef Alex with several witnesses and suspects to interview.
Once the innocent had been separated from the guilty and the crime was solved, it was time for bed. Another fantastic day for Green Group.

Today was a fantastic for Green Group as we were going camping! Before starting their camping experience and after a delicious breakfast, campers had some time to tidy their rooms and change their sheets followed by some sports on the football pitch.
After lunch, Green and Yellow Group headed off on a hike to our Alpine Outpost camp site. Everyone enjoyed the hike through the beautiful mountains of the Portes du Soleil. Thankfully the weather was wonderful and the sun was shining bright making the hike more enjoyable.
We reached the site around 17:00 and the campers were shown their rooms and had some time to relax, play cards and table tennis. At 18:30 everyone was ready for a yummy and well deserved BBQ dinner. After dinner everyone headed off on another hike to the French border. The campers seemed very excited to be in France and Switzerland at the same time!
We ended the wonderful day with a camp fire, singing camp songs and toasting marshmallows. Another great day had by all!
The day started off with an early wake up call as the children were going on the glacier trip! After two cable cars and a ski lift to the top we felt on top of the world as we looked down on the mountains. Everyone had a go at the husky dog sledding and then went on the highest Alpine roller-coaster in the world!
When we arrived back at camp, the children participated in numerous games in the sun. After dinner we cuddled up to a movie with mugs of hot chocolate. What a great day!
Red Group had an early start this morning due to their glacier trip. We wrapped up warm and then jumped on the bus. When we arrived at the car park we had to ride two gondolas and a ski lift which was very exciting. Waiting for the campers when they arrived on the glacier weas a pack of husky dogs ready to take us dog sledding. After the sled ride there was a super fun roller coaster ride which the campers loved
Once they departed the glacier the children enjoyed lunch before returning to camp for an afternoon of sports and games. In the evening Red Group curled up with some chocolate in front of the TV to watch Big Hero 6. This was some well deserved rest and the perfect way to end a magical day!
Today we started the day with a mid session clean of our bedrooms and changed our bed sheets. The campers all got really into it and it was done in no time at all! So with our leftover time before lunch we headed up to the sports pitch to play some football and chill in the sun. After this, we headed back to camp for lunch then prepared ourselves for camping. Once everyone was ready we headed off on a beautiful mountain hike up the mountain to the chalet where we would be spending the night. With gorgeous clear skies and hot sun the views were amazing. We hiked together for about 3 hours.
Once we got to camping we had a BBQ dinner and the campers had some more time to relax before embarking on another hike; this time to France! We hiked up for about 20 minutes until we reached the French border and took some group photos with Mount Blanc. The evening was then spent singing songs, telling stories and eating the Camp Suisse Special of banana stuffed with chocolate baked over the campfire. What a great end to an amazing day.

Red Group awoke to a beautiful day and a delicious breakfast. After breakfast we hopped on the mini bus to Plan du Croix to do some mountain biking. Whilst there we spent time improving our mountain biking skills, learning new ones and playing some fun games. After we finished mountain biking we rode down to camp ready for lunch.
After lunch we headed to the football pitch to do some archery where we all discovered our inner Katniss Everdeen. Another fun day at Camp Suisse!
