This morning the Red Group began their language classes. They all got on really well and have made a fantastic start. After a relaxing picnic the Red Group participated in mountain adventure day. This included learning to build and light a fire, making hammocks, trangias and the eagle eye game. We returned to camp for a delicious dinner of burritos followed by Eton mess. After dinner we participated in a range of sports followed by an early night to prepare for glacier day!
Yellow Group woke up to a bright and sunny morning ready for the day. After breakfast the campers headed to archery where they got to embrace their inner Robin Hood. They then walked back through the forest and headed back to camp for a hot lunch. Lunch was followed by the campers first set of language classes with our fantastic teachers. The evening activity was a Quiz-extravaganza which tested Yellow Group on all their accumulated trivia knowledge. It was then time for a good night sleep to prepare our start for an early start for glacier day!
The Yellow Groups first day in the Swiss Alps got off to a flying start. In the morning the group had a short test on the language that they will be studying in order to place them in the appropriate level of class. Afterwards we packed our bags and made our way to the exciting Labyrinth Adventure Park. The park is filled with fun activities such as long windy slides, sumo wrestling, trampolines, rocking boats and lots more! The Yellow Group basked in the Swiss sun while making the most of their day. It was also a great opportunity for the Yellow Group to get to know each other as there were many relaxing areas in the shade available.
We returned to a fresh and hearty dinner (sweet and sour chicken) which was enjoyed by all! Afterwards the group participated in a game of Giant Scrabble which required them to work in a team.
All in all a fantastic day was had by everyone in the Yellow Group and excitement was high for the following day and exciting adventures that would follow.
Green Group had a fantastic first day in the Swiss Alps. The day commenced with some language tests with each camper completing some exercises in their chosen language in order to decide their classes for our first day of language classes. After this we headed off to Labyrinth Adventure Park for the rest of the day. After a picnic in the sun, Green Group spent the afternoon exploring and trying out the different games. Inflatable obstacle courses, sumo suits, slides and spinning wheels were amongst some of the fun activities on offer.
Following a relaxing shower hour and a delicious dinner of sweet and sour chicken, Green Group spent the evening challenging their knowledge with a game of giant scrabble. All in all, an exciting start to session 3 of Camp Suisse!

The first day at camp was very busy for our Blue Group campers. Our campers woke up for breakfast and after a morning meeting, completed some language tests so that they could be placed appropriately in their language classes.
After that, the fun really began! Our campers jumped on the bus ready for a day at the Labyrinth Adventure Park. Our campers ate their picnic in the shade, before dividing into groups to enjoy the activities. Our campers found their way around the maze, slid down slides, spun on giant swings and hamster wheels, as well as playing lots of old-fashioned wooden games.
Our campers enjoyed themselves so much in the sunshine! Our campers made it back in time for Shower Hour, and a dinner of Sweet and Sour Chicken.
The evening’s entertainment was karaoke, and the campers all joined in, singing and dancing, with gusto! What an action-packed and fun-filled day!
This morning, Red Group started the day with their first breakfast at Camp Suisse. Everyone tucked into a wide selection of cereal, toast, fruit and eggs, read for the jam-packed day ahead of them. Before the group left for their first excursion, everyone took a quick language test to see which class they would be in tomorrow.
After that, it was off to the Labyrinth Adventure Park, a theme park down in the valley. There was so much for our campers to do there, they absolutely loved it!
There were huge slides, bikes, bouncy castles, swings, jungle gyms, and, of course, a giant labyrinth filled with hidden surprises for our campers to find!
Finally, it was time to head back to camp to have a shower and a satisfying evening meal. After dinner, Red Group had fun singing some karaoke. Our campers sung their hearts out, and headed to bed, ready for another day of fun!
22nd July 2016
Today was the last full day of Camp Suisse Session 2 and in accordance with tradition, it finished in a very special way: with Mission Day! Campers were split into six squadrons: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo and Foxtrot. Then, after getting suitably prepared with camouflage face paint, each squadron was given the objective of their mission for the day.
Missions included: climbing, mountain biking, navigation and obstacle courses. All of our campers enjoyed the co-operative atmosphere, especially the squadron chants that were sung throughout the day. Mission Day came to an explosive end with a camp rocket launch!
The campers then transformed themselves army teams to prom prince and princesses, ready for the Camp Suisse Prom. After a delicious dinner, the camp awards were announced and the Camp Suisse cinema opened, showing the campers’ three minute movies that were made by the Yellow and Green Groups.
The evening came to a close with a spectacular disco, and everyone spent their last night at camp dancing and singing with their friends.
The prom and disco was the best and most special way to finish Camp Suisse Session 2!

Today our campers woke to a bright and exciting day, ready to go banana boating! They came to breakfast with all they needed: swimming costumes, towels, suncream and most importantly, enthusiasm.
The bus dropped our campers by the lake and our campers secured a nice spot in the shade to put down their bags. The first group of seven jumped on the banana boat and a day of fun began! The campers all got a turn and the rest of the time was spent swimming in both the lake and the open air swimming pool, as well as going on the slide and the bouncy castle. Our campers also enjoyed ice cream and slushies from the kiosk, as well as playing cards and making friendship bracelets in the shade.
As they got on the bus back to camp, our campers assured their group leaders that this was the best day yet! But it wasn’t over yet: after a dinner of chicken fajitas, our campers presented their different acts at the Camp Suisse Talent Showcase 2016. All of our campers had prepared something in their language class. The audience enjoyed renditions of the rainbow song, ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, ‘Do Re Mi’ and even a Harry Potter skit. The audience were all complete blown away by their talent! What a bunch of superstars!

This morning the campers had a choice of three activities: outdoor rock climbing, archery or ‘art jamming’ (fun with arts and crafts). Those of our campers who went outdoor rock climbing got to put some of the skills that they’d learned on the indoor climbing wall to the test. Meanwhile, those that turned their hand to archery were able to practise their precision among the sunny mountains on the football pitch. The campers who opted to stay behind and take part in some art jamming spent a laid-back morning on the veranda, painting, sketching and sculpting whatever their hearts desired.
In the afternoon, our campers had their language lessons, in which they rehearsed for language karaoke, which was happening that same evening.
After dinner, all the classes performed their songs with such enthusiasm, some even performed impressive dance routines to accompany their songs! A great night was had by all!
Blue Group began the day with language lessons- but not just any normal language lessons! Today our campers made their final preparations for their performances for the 2016 Camp Suisse Talent Showcase. Our campers practised their plays and songs, and got creative with their costumes and props.
Afternoon activities comprised of Camp Suisse Olympics day- one of our campers’ favourite activities! Our campers got into groups and were to represent one of eight different countries. There was an official opening ceremony, where each team got to wave their country’s flag and walk out to their anthem. After playing rounders, football, and many other fun games, it was decided that Italy was the winner!
After a tasty dinner and some evening entertainment, it was time for our campers to head to bed to gain some energy for another exciting day here at camp!
