El grupo azul visita el glaciar

20th July 2018

Today, for the Blue Group, the day began with a varied breakfast at 6:15 in the morning. After preparing all the necessary things, we left at 7 to the glacier (Glacier 3000). When we arrived, we climbed in two cable cars to the highest part of the mountain. Once at the top, we took a chairlift down to see the huskies. After a bit of fun, we headed to our next activity, in which we enjoyed a dog sled ride. Afterwards, it was time to jump on the roller coaster in pairs, then we had lunch and got ready for the next activity. When we finished having lunch, we headed towards the highest peak, after crossing the sky bridge. Once we enjoyed the views, we climbed back into the cable car and headed for the bus. We arrived at the camp at 4 in the afternoon and enjoyed a time of art and painting. We dedicate ourselves to recreate the glacier through sculptures, while we relax with music. At the end we had a shower at 5:15 and we had dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Off Up the Mountain!

12th July 2018

On Tuesday, the blue group kicked off the day with their language classes. They dedicated part of the lesson to prepare for the renowned Camp Suisse Talent Show, which took place on Wednesday night, where each language class presented their own act. Everyone was very excited to put into practice what they had learnt in class over the last two weeks! After a hearty lunch, it was time to head off for our walk towards the French/ Swiss border, situated a little further up the mountain. All the campers were very proud of their efforts; the walk was a challenge for all, and the fruits of their efforts were appreciated in the form of the spectacular view when they reached the summit. In the evening, our group had the chance to enjoy a well deserved and delicious meal prepared at camp. Finally, before bed, the everyone enjoyed munching marshmallows and chanting their favourite songs around the camp fire!

The Blue Group plays Archery

9th July 2018

Our first activity of the day was archery. Everyone had lots of turns of shooting the arrows with many good shots too! We finished up by playing the ‘holiday game’ where one arrow represents your holiday location, one represents your mode of transport and the final arrow is where you’re staying. For example, some combinations were going to Tanzania in the sewers and sleeping in a pent house apartment! We came back for lunch and then had 2 hours of language lessons. The campers then had an elective activity with a choice between climbing, arts and crafts or sports. For this evening… karaoke!

The Olympic Flame comes to Camp Suisse

This morning the entire camp was treated to a well deserved lie in, followed by a Nutella filled breakfast for reds and blues. Room inspections then began after the campers had made sure their bedrooms were perfect and clean for another week at camp.
Once the rooms were perfect and lunch was finished, exciting times laid ahead as Olympic day began.

Campers were sorted into different countries with members from red group up to yellow group. Campers got to put on face paint, make up chants and design a flag for their respective countries. The Olympic ceremony began with the lighting of the Olympic torch while each team descended to their national anthem. Campers then all headed to the football pitch where they competed in fun games such as an egg and spoon race, tug of war and frisbee golf. After touch competition, Brazil were crowned the Olympic gold medalists, closely followed by Japan and Egypt, with Maria Sofia and Adam G from green group winning prizes! The Olympics was followed by an impromptu water fight and then shower hour. Evening entertainment was an elective, with green group choosing to relax and do yoga, dance with a Zumba class and play more sports. Overall a great day!
