9th August 2019
The whole camp came together today, for the 49th Annual Camp Suisse Olympics! This was a massively exciting event for the campers, who loved getting the chance to mix with the other groups. The campers were representing a range of countries, including the Republic of Ireland, New Zealand, and Russia.
The children spent some time making preparations for the Olympics, including face-paint, flag-making, and making up their own chants. The campers then walked to the Camp Suisse Olympic Grounds, where they participated in events like three-legged football, tug-o-war, and then a massive water-fight at the end of the day! Everyone got really involved, and eventually it was New Zealand who took the win after an intense moo-off to seal first place.
In the evening, the campers all got dressed up to celebrate the event of the session: Prom night! After a wonderful dinner, the prize of King or Queen of Camp had to be announced. Nicole from the Blue Group was the deserving winner! The campers danced the night away, before saying goodbye to friends leaving early in the morning.

A big ‘thank you’ to Colour Group Supervisor/ Group Leader Sinéad for editing the Camp Journal articles over the past six weeks. Sinead leaves us at the end of Session Three and her meticulously written blog posts have been really appreciated in the office, and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading them too!
