Green and Yellow Group ÛÒ Glacier Day!
1st August 2014
It was an early start for the campers in Green and Yellow Group because it was Glacier Day!
The campers took a cable car high up the mountain to Glacier 3000 and soon arrived for a ride around on a sled pulled by huskies! After that it was time to whizz down the world’s highest alpine roller coaster!
Once everyone had enjoyed lunch and enjoyed a factual talk on glaciers, it was time to head back down on the cable cars and go to Villeneuve.
In Villeneuve the campers had a great afternoon by Lake Geneva and had a swim in the Olympic sized pool!
Back at Camp Suisse the evening entertainment was a nice relaxing hot chocolate and a movie – perfect!
Red and Blue Group ÛÒ Glacier Day!

After a nutritious breakfast and a journey on the Camp Suisse coach, the campers arrived at the bottom of the mountain to then catch the cable car up to the summit above the clouds!
At the top the campers were on a glacier! It was an amazing sight to behold with the sun shining and all the snow! At Glacier 3000 there were husky dogs waiting with a sled, ready to give the campers a ride around. After everyone had a go it was only polite to give the dogs a pat on the head as a thank you.
In the afternoon the campers arrived in the sun soaked town of Villeneurve right next to Lake Geneva! The campers got to have a swim in the pool and lake!
Everyone had bucket loads of fun playing games and larking about! Back at Camp Suisse in the evening the campers enjoyed a culinary celebration of Swiss National Day
Green and Yellow Group – Mountain Biking!
It was another fun day for the campers in Green and Yellow Group with double language lessons and mountain biking in the afternoon!
First of all during the mountain biking, the campers practiced their biking skills on the obstacle course and played some fun games on their bikes. Soon it was time to ride down the hill on some trails! The Activity Leaders were very impressed with everyone’s technique!
Once the campers had arrived back at camp it was time for the Camp Suisse photo shoot – big cheesy smiles!
Later the Pastoral Leaders put on some great evening entertainment which was the Casino night!
Red and Blue Blog – Follow the map!

After a double session of languages in the morning, the red and blue groups split into their respective groups for different afternoon activities.
The red group managed to make the most of the difficult weather conditions, just about managing to stay dry for their short hike around the forest before using pine cones and paint to create their interpretations of ‘marmots in the forest’. There were certainly some terrific displays of artistry!
Meanwhile, the Blue group were entertained by orienteering followed by a sports session. After learning some map-reading skills and orienteering theory, they were able to put their knowledge into practise in an orienteering race around the centre. After a short break, they headed up to the sports hall for some football coaching, where they honed their skills and were told about good sportsmanship and fair play by Activity Leader Emma.
After dinner, everyone at camp took part in Torgona Hunt in small groups, racing around the centre and square searching for answers to clues they were given. They will find out which group won the grand prize next Thursday at the disco!
Green and Yellow Group ÛÒ Splashing around!
In the morning the campers enjoyed a lovely breakfast preparing them for an action packed day at the Aqua Parc!
Everyone spent the whole day trying out the super high and fast water slides and splashing around in the pools!
After lunch in the park the campers had a chance to look around some shops and then climbed aboard the Camp Suisse coach to go back to camp.
In the evening it was a great time solving the Torgona Hunt, the campers go around the camp and village figuring out riddles and following clues!
Red and Blue Blog ÛÒ Splashing around at Aqua Parc!

There is no better way than to spend the day splashing around in a pool or whizzing down water slides and that is exactly what the campers in Red and Blue Group did!
The campers left for Aqua Parc in the morning and soon had their swimming costumes on ready for a go on the various inflatable toys, floats and the pirate ruins. The highlight of the day for many had to be the Lazy River because everyone loved being carried along by the current in the rapids!
Back at Camp Suisse the campers enjoyed an evening playing bingo where some C.S souvenirs were won!
Green and Yellow Group ÛÒ Dance like nobody is watching!
Today was a day where the campers really had to use their brains and develop their language skills to their team work confidence!
In the morning the Language Tutors has prepared some interesting and challenging lessons for the campers, then it was soon time for dinner – the lessons just fly by with everyone concentrating and having fun!
The Activity Leaders had a great afternoon planned for the campers. A round up of the activities would be Orienteering exercises, the climbing wall and team building games!
The campers had a great time in the afternoon but the fun was far from over because everyone had dance lessons in the evening – some great moves…and maybe a few two left feet!
Red and Blue Group ÛÒ Hello, Bonjour, åÁhola!

It was a great start to the day for the campers in Red and Blue Group, they enjoyed their language lessons and you can hear the fun they are having coming from the class rooms!
In the afternoon the campers had a great time on the climbing wall and later on they played several team building games – there is a solid team spirit and the Activity Leader said each camper overcame the challenges as part of a team!
In the evening the Pastoral Team Leaders had arranged for everybody to have some dance lessons! There were some amazing dance moves and rhythm!
Green and Yellow Group ÛÒ High up on the ropes!
The campers in Green and Yellow Group had a great day out at the Adventure Parc in the morning. Everyone faced their fears on the aerial assault courses and zip wires!
After 2 hours of fun and many obstacles overcome, the campers enjoyed lunch and then departs for Lausanne and the Olympic Museum.
For the tour the campers discovered incredible facts about the games, watched some great footage of events in the past and saw some famous memorabilia. At the end of the tour there was a chance to play some Olympic themed games!
Back at Camp Suisse the evening entertainment was a game of Bingo! The lucky winners received some Camp Suisse goodies!
Hello Session 3 and A.

Welcome to all our campers who are here for our new sessions!
The arrivals day was a great success with campers arriving in small groups from 10am all the way until 9pm.
There was plenty to do as soon as the campers had checked in, with the campers getting to know their new friends and Camp Suisse staff. The Ping-Pong table and sports hall were also put into good use. After all the chatting, sports, games and fun, our new campers were able to pick up a snack from the kitchen staff!
After dinner the groups gathered for the first time playing some problem solving and team building games, everyone had a great time.
With all the travelling and games today a good sleep was required with all the campers wondering what their first full day at camp will have in store for them!
With day one being a great success, we’re all looking forward to the next couple of weeks here at Camp Suisse.
