Blue Group ÛÒ Survival Warriors!
6th August 2014
In the morning the campers were studying in their language lessons and showing improvement in every class! Some of the lessons we taken outside to enjoy the sunshine!
After lunch it was time to go on the Bush Craft hike. The campers are taught survival skills, about the different types of rocks and other natural materials found in the forest. Also, the Activity Leaders demonstrated how to put up hammocks and build shelter – great fun!
In the evening the campers were on the hunt for Dracula – it’s a great game where the campers solve clues and riddles to obtain items that will defeat the Dracula (this means throwing water balloons and chasing Dracula!).
Green and Yellow Group ÛÒ Return from the Alpine Outpost!
In the morning the campers woke up to the smell of a scrummy cooked breakfast and then made the hike back down to base camp.
Once everyone had settle back into Camp Suisse and had lunch, it was time to go for more adventure on the Bush Craft hike! During the hike the campers were taught how to filter water using only moss and other survival skills!
Later on it was up to the Archery Range for some target practice. There were some great shots fired and a Robin Hood or two in the making!

Red and Blue Group ÛÒ Back from camping!
5th August 2014
The campers woke up from their overnight stay at the Alpine Outpost and had a filling cooked breakfast!
Soon it was time to hike back to Camp Suisse for some more adventure.
The Activity Leaders had some great fun planned for the campers in the afternoon which was mountain biking and time on the climbing wall.
Everyone enjoyed a go on the mountain bike obstacle course and reaching the dizzying heights on the climbing wall!
In the evening there was more fun and games, the campers played Countdown a word and number quiz!
Green and Yellow Group – Camping
The campers were excited to explore further from Camp Suisse and spend the night at our Alpine Outpost!
After a double language lesson it was time to put on the hiking boots and fill up the water bottles to begin the hike up to the outpost.
Soon everyone has arrived at the outpost and there was a delicious BBQ ready and waiting for their arrival! After the campers had finished eating it was time to play some games such as ping-pong, cards and table-football. Then everyone gathered around the camp fire to toast marshmallows and sing some songs.
Once the marshmallows had gone everyone was ready to turn in for the night after a great day!
Red and Blue Group ÛÒ Camping!

The campers in Red and Blue Group enjoyed their language lessons in the morning before having a tasty lunch at camp. In the afternoon everyone packed their bags and set off an evening at the Alpine Outpost.
Everyone hiked from Camp Suisse in the beautiful sunshine and soon arrived at the outpost. The campers spent the afternoon playing games and some had a go at making Origami!
For dinner the campers had a delicious BBQ followed by a banana cooked with chocolate and marshmallow!
The best part of the night was the roaring camp fire! The campers gathered around the fire singing camp songs!
A great time had by all!
Green and Yellow Group ÛÒ Cover it in chocolate and a miracle or two!
The campers went on a visit to the Cailler chocolate factory, the oldest Swiss chocolate brand still in existence.
As the Camp Suisse coach approached the chocolate factory there was real excitement and intrigue for what the tour would bring! Inside the campers began the interactive tour in which you could smell the sweet fragrance of chocolate. The visit would not have been complete without a taste and the campers were in for a treat when they entered the tasting room (a whole room in which you can eat as much chocolate as you wished!).
In the afternoon, the campers went to a well-known town called Gruyère (famous for the yummy cheese!). They enjoyed a picnic lunch in the park below the medieval Gruyère Castle!
Back at Camp Suisse everyone enjoyed a Music Quiz and then it was lights out.
Red and Blue Group ÛÒ Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!

It has to be every young child’s dream to visit a chocolate factory and that is exactly what was planned for the campers!
In the morning the campers boarded the Camp Suisse coach to take them to the Cailler Chocolate factory for a tour. The first part was a great interactive installation about the love for chocolate around the world from the Aztec times to the production of it in the present day.
At the end the campers were very lucky and entered the sample room where they could try as much chocolate as they liked!
In the afternoon it was over to the Gruyere Old Town where the campers played in the park (an opportunity to burn off all that chocolate!) and they also had a chance to explore the medieval town!
Back at Camp Suisse the campers enjoyed dinner and then an evening it was time to play some sports with the Pastoral Leaders!
Green and Yellow Group ÛÒ Lights, Camera and Action!
The campers in Green and Yellow Group made the most of the adverse weather again today!
By the time all the campers had finished their language lessons, too much rain had fallen! So instead of going up the Archery Range the Activity Leaders organised some great team building games and sports.
The campers split into small groups and played the problem solving games to improve on communication and co-operating within a group of people.
After a short break for Afternoon Tea, the campers headed to the sports hall to begin a hockey tournament! There was a real competitive spirit and comradery!
In the evening everyone had a great time making ‘3-minute movies’ of their favourite films – there were some great actors and directors!
Sunny Saturday!

Arrivals day for some, ‘Chilled Saturday’ for others, it was another great day at Camp Suisse!
All of the groups welcomed new campers with open arms, and sadly some of the Reds and Blues left us!
Those who had arrived by lunchtime joined us for a short hike around the mountain forestry, where we lapped up the glorious sunshine before getting caught in a sudden downpour on our return to Camp. We then had an extended shower hour in order to get warm and dry, and to allow new campers to get to know their new friends!
After dinner, all four groups were given a choice between watching Night at the Museum or a football tournament in the sports hall: for which there was almost a perfect 50/50 split!

The campers had some exciting activities to do and in the morning it was study time in the language lessons.
In the afternoon the Red Group Campers went to the Camp Suisse archery range and did their target practice – there were some great shots!
For the Blue Group the campers donned the bicycle helmets and jump on the mountain bikes to practice on the obstacle course before doing some fast trails down the mountain!
In the evening the Camp Suisse Casino opened and it was great fun!
