More Montreux Magic for the Reds and Blues!

14th July 2022

We woke up to another bright, sunny and beautiful day in Les Crosets as our fabulous reds and blues enjoyed another lovely Nutella-filled breakfast complete with gallons of orange juice before smashing it in their second morning of languages at Camp Suisse.

Thea, Katia, Isabella, Maya and Dylan learnt French heads, shoulders knees and toes at lightening speed before designing fabulous monsters using their newfound French body part vocab knowledge with Winter, Aidan and Layan. Wait and see the amazing French monsters in the French books they bring home! Mairirose, Uma, Kate, Liam and Yasmine did some incredible self portraits and character descriptions in the advanced French class. The whole French gang then learnt a very catchy prepositions song complete with actions in no time. Fantastic work icons!

Over in Spanish, Jimena, Riya, Leah, Samual and Sarah and Kayla designed some incredible flags and learnt the colours! ¡Enhorabuena!

The English class saw Joaquim, Valentina, Alix, Pierre, Sabina, bianca and Zelda learnt to talk about family and did some brilliant reading!

How clever are our brilliant blues and reds !

After a well deserved hot lunch of hot dogs the juniors hit up the sunny jazz capital of Montreux. Harriet and Margot absolutely smashed the scavenger hunt and Pierre and Kayla managed to find the most expensive item in Montreaux ! Equally Omar showed incredible kindness to his fellow reds and blues today which we are very proud of him for.

After our trip to Montreux’s supermarket, I think Camp Suisse may have single handedly funded the Swiss candy industry!

Well done legends – we are very proud of your brilliant behaviour, kindness and all round iconicness again today !!!!!!!! 😊

Greens go camping!

13th July 2022

After lunch, the green group set off on and scenic hike to find their way for camping night at Planachaux. They enjoyed discovering the fauna founded in the Swiss Alps as they walked pass the friendly cows, and proved each of the green campers their supportive spirit as they cheered each other up to make it up the steep mountain in this hot summer day. After getting a must needed energy boost at afternoon tea, they departed into the forest to find the perfect “marshmallow roasting stick”. All campers enjoyed roasting giant marshmallows in the fire and bananas with chocolate at dessert time! Campers ended the day proving their general culture knowledge with the majestic sunset view of Les Dents du Midi as their background.

The Greens and Yellows go Husky Sledging

12th July 2022

The greens and yellows had an early start today for their trip to Glacier 3000! After a scenic bus ride to the glacier, the greens and yellows took 2 cable cars up to the top of the Glacier, with stunning views of the surrounding Alps and snow. After a quick snowball fight we hiked over to the husky dogs. Everybody really enjoyed walking the huskies through the crunchy snow. After a quick stop for lunch in the picnic area the campers had a blast on the alpine rollercoaster, zooming at top speeds and screaming with delight! The green girls also had great fun doing Natalia’s make up at 3000m! After the adrenaline rush of the roller coaster we climbed the steps to the peak walk. Tony was scared at first but really enjoyed it in the end, while Brendan took some fabulous shots on his camera! On the way to Aigle swimming pool Artem surprised us all with his lovely singing voice and the yellow boys all joined in for a sing song. The yellows and greens had a lovely time in Aigle swimming pool, splashing about, jumping off the diving board and flying down the water slide! A great day was had by all, with smiles all around.

The groups then made their way home for dinner and casino night!

Red and Blue Renditions of the Lion Sleeps Tonight

The reds and blues rose bright and early today as they got ready for a morning of languages fun before heading off to Champéry for rock climbing. In French this morning Thea, Katia , Isabella, Maya and Winter took to French like ducks to water whilst Kate, Maisy, Mairirose and Yasmine put their already fabulous French skills to practice starting work on their Switzerland travel guides! I think lots of parents will be planning trips after reading them!

Equally, Leo, Dylan, Uma and Jayda did incredibly amazing singing as we learned how to sing ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ in French ready for a performance complete with costumes and dancing later this week!

On the Spanish side of life, Jimena, Riya, Kayla, Leah, Sarah and Samual blew their teacher, Mai away with their unparalleled skills.

English lessons saw Joaquim, Valentina, Pierre, Zelda, Bianca and Sabina progress at lightening speed. How are their brains growing bigger and bigger all the time!!

After a lovely hot lunch of jacket potatoes the juniors set off for a fun filled afternoon of climbing. Mika, Pierre, Phœnix, Layan, Omar and Harriet embodied the true spirit of Spider Man whilst some of the blues also took part in an epic scavenger hunt around Champéry! Isabella, Leah, Omar, Maya, Yasmine and Maisy found all the answers in no time; maybe they should get a part time job as Champéry tour guides!

Again incredibly proud of our fabulous reds and blues again today! They are an absolute credit to both us and their families!

Well done legends 😊

Jazzing about for the Greens and Yellows

Today was a great day!

We had languages in the morning, some of us took French lessons some of English and some of us Spanish. It was a good morning, everyone seemed to enjoyed their lessons a lot. After lessons, we had lunch at camp with the yellows.

After that we went to Montreux, to the Montreux jazz festival! A really nice musical festival which happens on July, so we were lucky enough to go! It was a really sunny day! So perfect day to have a walk besides lake Geneva while listening to some live music!

There was a really nice food market, some of us got food, snacks and even ice cream to refresh ourselves. It was definitely a really nice day to spend with our friends at Montreux.

We then went back to camp by bus, to have dinner with the yellows and then our evening activities.

An aMAZEing day for the Reds and Blues!

11th July 2022

Today the Reds and Blues were at Labyrinthe Adventure fun park! And what an adventure it was! We had intrepid explorers like Dylan and Pierre scale the 5 story tower and slide aaallllll the way down.

We also had loads of fun on the many bouncy castles with Jaida managing to navigate the difficult inflatable obstacle course despite the interventions of Joaquim 😉

We also explored the namesake of the park, the labyrinth itself, with its many twists and turns (and a few secret passages!) Omar and Yasmine turned out to be amazing pathfinders and managed to help their groups out of the treacherous maze!

It was a great day all around, especially rounded off by Layan’s birthday cake, which ended up all over her face after some surprises by her table at dinner!

Thanks to all the Reds and Blues for a fantastic day!

The Reds and Blues watch the Tour de France!

Yesterday the sun rose bright and early as our fabulous reds and blues eagerly set off to the marvellous Monthey swimming pool. Excitement filled the air as the juniors saw the incredible array of slides and the brilliant lazy river. Valentina must’ve hit the world record for the amount of times to go round a twirly whirly slide in an hour whilst Maisy, Maya, Leo, Mika, Jimena, Riya and Uma spent the morning racing round the lazy river at lightening speed.

There was nothing stopping Mairirose and Kate as they zipped down the fast yellow slides at a million miles an hour.

The afternoon brought the juniors visiting the 2022 Tour de France! Pierre watched with eager eyes as the cyclists competed for the top position whilst Zelda and Leah designed fabulous t-shirts for the Tour de France !

The evening brought the blue group playing a very intense game of Warewolf. Layaan helped figure out who the imposters were and Maya and Leah’s acting skills were simply unparalleled!

Well done today red and blue legends, we are very proud of you all as usual!

The Greens and Yellows go to Prom!

7th July 2022

Today, Thursday we had a really great and fun day! We started by hiking down from Taney. While it was sore on the knees, we flew down and everyone enjoyed it a lot. It is a beautiful hike with stunning views. After the long hike we were a bit tired and we all napped on the way to to Champéry. We were really lucky because we went for a swim to Champéry swimming pool at the Palledium. We got to have some chilling time by the pool. The weather was great, it didn’t rain at all! We had lunch there, and a great time with everyone.

After that we travelled back to camp by coach, everyone was really excited because we had to get ready for prom!

Prom was a blast! The Greens and Yellows had dinner together and the dinning hall looked fantastic. Our prom theme was “Hawaiian Night” so there were lots of colourful Hawaiian decorations literally everywhere and it really created a Hawaii atmosphere. We also played Hawaiian music, and we had a song request sheet so that everyone could pick a song and dance to it.

It was a great night enjoyed by all!

It was also a day for saying goodbye to our new friends we made at camp. We were a little sad saying goodbye, but also glad to have been able to share these/this week/weeks with our friends in the Swiss Alps!

The Reds and Blues go camping!

The reds and blues had a VERY exciting adventure today, they set off an an invigorating hike to the Ski Club in Planachaux. They dealt with this task tremendously, and made great time to our refuge in the mountains. They learned campfire songs such as TARZAN and THE PIRATE SHANTY, and we also told our campfire stories, with Sebas even making his one up on the spot!

We also tried some spooky games like Werewolf, where Noah masterfully convinced the entire group that he was innocent, all the while actually being a werewolf the entire time!

Finally, with some yummy marshmallows and chocolate we binged movies including despicable me and Madagascar which Izzy particularly enjoyed.

Our adventure in the mountains, was a resounding success and everyone really enjoyed camping!

The Greens and Yellows go Glaciering!

5th July 2022

Today was a jam-packed day as the whole camp had an early start this morning with a 7am bus to Glacier 3000, and afternoon by the pool in Aigle and dinner at the pizza restaurant in Champoussin.

It was a groggy 6am wake up and breakfast in the camp as we got ready to set off for the glacier. When we got to Glacier 3000 we were lucky enough to be the first ones to arrive, so the husky dogs were still in the car park and their handlers let us go up and get to know each dog and give them lots of scratches. From the top of the glacier our view was somewhat obstructed by the morning fog, but nonetheless we enjoyed walking, sliding and throwing snowballs in the snow. We had a lovely walk along the suspension bridge before lunch and left just enough time for a turn on the highly anticipated Alpine Coaster.

We then made our way to Aigle pool for a complete 180, going from being layered up in the cold on top of the glacier to sunbathing and splashing about in the 31 degree heat. An afternoon lazing by the pool was just what was needed. We then packed up and set off to our last destination of the day, Pizza Night in Champoussin.

We came back to the camp for a chilled art jamming session to end it all off, and I’m sure everyone will have a great sleep after that.

WE ORGANISE AMAZING Winter CAMPS TOO...
