Goodbye Conyers
22nd June 2017
Carrying on the theme of camping and outdoor survival from yesterday, it was time for Conyers’ Mountain Edventure Day! You never know what might happen in the outdoors, so in this session we were taught bush craft skills in the forest! After lots of learning, hard work and plenty of fun, it was time for the final lunch at Camp Suisse. After a long week of activities and many achievements there was a prize giving for the week along with food so that the most committed and adventurous students were able to be rewarded. Finally, it was time for a sad goodbye, see you soon Conyers!!!
Au Revoir EIG !
Today the two groups of EIG switched roles as each as it was time again for some Mountain biking and climbing as the groups attacked the activities they hadn’t previously tried with gusto. As usual in the lovely sunny Alps, it was a beautiful day and there was some great weather for a lovely cycle down the mountain for the biking group. It was challenging but extremely rewarding and everybody felt very proud of themselves afterwards! Meanwhile, there was some conquering of fears as the other group faced the task of the climbing wall. Amongst the fun and games that the activities leaders incorporated into the sessions , there was a big boost of confidence for those who tested their limits.
Sadly, however, the fun couldn’t last forever and it was time for yet another goodbye as the campers headed back to Geneva after a adventure filled week!
GES’ Day of Fun

The weather gave GES a lovely hike back to Camp Suisse from last nights camping session and they made it back in great time and raring to go on the new day’s activities! It was now their turn to tackle our key feature: the climbing wall. This particular favourite with our Campers was very popular once again and the other class also were able to try their hand at some competitive Archery on our lovely football pitch surrounded by the beautiful mountains!
After a lot of skills practise and learning (and of course a spot of some tasty Lasagna for dinner) it was time to head to the activity area for the evening to have a bit of fun. This included some silliness on the Bouncy Castle and some thrill seeking on the Zip line swing! It’s safe to say that there is a lot excitement for what tomorrow holds…
Hiking, Hiking and more Hiking !!
Another hot and sunny day dawned above the beautiful mountains surrounding our camp. This meant that it was time for the tough northerners from Conyers school to don their sun cream and sunhats, grab their water bottles and brave the exciting hike to Tanay; a famous and beautiful Swiss lake high in the Alps.
On our travels, we walked through the quaint village Le Flon, where we stopped for a well deserved rest. After the long and anticipation filled walk, we were finally greeted by the beautiful lake. As a reward, all went for a swim and there were many ice creams purchased. It was great to be able to cool off and relax.
To top off all of this excitement, it was time for camping! The students were treated to a tasty BBQ. Our activity leaders are renowned for their crazy and fun camp stories, songs and games and we all went to bed very happy!
EIG survive the wild
As we approached the middle of EIG’s stay at Camp, it was time to further practise their skills set. This morning was dedicated to tackling the climbing wall for half of the group, whilst the other class were introduced to some thrilling Mountain biking! Both groups put their courage and commitment to the test. After a spot of lunch and some time for chatter it was time for the next challenge as they went off to learn survival techniques on their Mountain Edventure day! This became very competitive when our group leaders decide to test the Campers and switch things up; a shelter building race! After some life saving lessons on navigation, water filtration and other bush craft skills, it was time for some delicious curry and then games and activities on our beautiful football pitch before it was time for some much deserved recuperation ready for the next exciting day!
Strothoff test their biking skills
20th June 2017
This morning was dedicated to biking! We worked on our skills at the Camp Suisse practise track and then all joined forces for one big ride down the mountain. Once we had sufficiently used up all of the exciting paths and trails we had a spot of lunch and then it was back to business! The afternoon was spent learning survival skills in the woods, making fires, shelters and water filtration. Did somebody say, Sphagnum moss?!
Finally, as the day came to an end, a camp fire in the woods brought out marshmallows and some of Toria’s crazy camp songs were enjoyed by all!
EIG camping fun continues !!
The lucky campers awoke to a dazzling sunrise this morning. After such a fun filled previous day, it was agreed that the walk back to Camp would be nice and leisurely. There was plenty to appreciate and occupy them during the stroll. After a delicious and well earned lunch, everyone put their thinking caps on for some challenging team building games and even a spot of archery as well. Katniss Everdeen and Hawkeye : watch out!!
GES hike to France
After splitting the group into two, half enjoyed facing the challenge of scaling our exciting climbing walls. They enjoyed a great mix of interesting games that also helped them improve their climbing technique. Meanwhile, at the archery range, many bulls-eyes were had! The students showed enthusiasm and natural talent; our instructors have some competition!
In the afternoon the groups were reunited and headed up to take their turn at our beautiful Alpine outpost. The hike, whilst challenging, was enjoyed by all and we were all hunting the local animal: Mouflon! After a rest at the refuge – we hiked to the incredible French border where the some of the campers were excited to see the area in which they have skied during the winter!
Camp fire, sing songs (did somebody say the meatballs song??) and scary stories were swapped by campers. Ooooooo!
Living young!!
Today consisted of a trip for the lucky campers to the famous town Evian; known for its bottle spring water. The students explored the interactive quiz that Sophie had made for them and went wild! After lunch, a lovely cruise across the lake to the Suisse town of Ouchy (Lausanne). We all enjoyed a wander around this pretty area!
In the evening, after popular request, we all loved a Trip over to the Torgon games area. Bouncy castle, table tennis and general good times! Stay tuned for more fun.
It’s school Mania!

After the long journey from home near Frankfurt, Strothoff International school joined the ranks and were also welcomed to the Camp. After meeting their group leader and a spot of lunch- they dived straight into Archery. Everyone enjoyed hitting targets and Siobhan’s crazy games!! In the evening, after all this fun, the campers went off to explore our beautiful surroundings and squeeze in some fun before bedtime. They particularly enjoyed the famous and impressive suspension bridge and Torgon activity area. Unsurprisingly, the bouncy castle was a particular favourite!!
