Another Fun Filled Week!
13th June 2015
After saying a sad Au Revoir to La Cote and Strothoff International Schools yesterday afternoon the Camp Suisse Staff enjoyed a Pizza and some Ice Skating at Les Caprins! It was the perfect end to a fun filled week!
Today everyone has been busy cleaning, tidying and perfecting the schedule for our next set of campers! We’re all looking forward to welcoming our next group and making some more memories!
Bear Grylls eat your heart out! La Cote International and Strothoff schools are about!
11th June 2015
Whilst a cool mist and warm breeze ran through the valley today, our campers took part of what was a day of rough and ready mountain camping and survival skills.
Last night Strothoff year 6 spent the evening sat around a camp fire having a BBQ and toasting marshmallows. After spending a night in the wilderness having the best camp experience, Strothoff year 6 then packed up their basecamp this morning to head back to Camp Suisse HQ. After arrriving and showering the class then had lunch relaxing on our decking in the sunshine! They then jumped straight into this afternoons activity of rock climbing. However they pushed their skills to the limit by taking their talents from the camp suisse rock climbing wall to the mountains.
In the meantime, La Cote Year 6 have spent the day learning all about Mouflon tracking and hunting skills. Impressing our resident hunter Cyril with oodles of natural talent, the local Mouflon breathed a sigh of relief that this was only a theory activity.
Our last group out on the mountain today were the Year 4 class of La Cote International School. Proving that you are never too young to learn how to survive in the wilderness. This gang of now-adept survialists had an afternoon of practising river crossings, water filtration and navigational skills.
After a very active afternoon all campers have a dinner of home made chicken pie to look forward to!It doesnt even end there as the campers have fun filled evening activities to enjoy. Year 4 class of La Cote International school are showing their creative sides with a big arts and crafts session. While it is the turn of the year 6 classes of Strothoff and La Cote International to put their dancing shoes on and hit the disco!!
Day Three – Strothoff International School
10th June 2015
After a wonderful continental breakfast the students of Strothoff International School tried their skills on the mountain bikes with our activities team. Once they’d cycled rings around the activity leaders they headed back to Camp Suisse HQ for a lunch of Hot Dogs and salad!
After their re-fuel the team headed off on a hike to our Alpine Outpost to get ready for their camping adventure!
Day One – La Cote International School
Year 4
Our second school of this week arrived just before lunchtime, with excited faces we showed them round the camp and let them settle in to their new homes! Their afternoon session was mountain biking! The whole group made lots of improvement during the session with a little help from our activity leaders. Then most of the team managed a forest trail then the cycle back down to Camp, phew! To end their first day on a high, dinner was lasgne followed by a boogie at the Camp Suisse Disco!
Year 6
Whilst Year 4 were mountain biking year 6 took on our climbing wall! All showed very impressive skills, enough to rival our activities team! Next they moved on to Archery where the teams took it in turns to aim for bullseye in the sunshine! After dinner, the campers went to our Camp Suisse Casino Night!
All in all a very enjoyable first day for everyone!
Day Two – Strothoff International School
9th June 2015
Rise and shine campers!
The day started nice and early with the students of Strothoff International school boarding the Coach and heading off up the long, winding road to the Glacier! When the bus couldn’t go any further our campers hopped on the cable cars before finally reaching Glacier 3000 HQ! Everyone got chance to ride the sled pulled by the huskies before giving them a little pat well done after! But the fun didn’t end there with the campers being whizzed off to the alpine rollercoaster! After enjoying some yummy pasta pots the campers headed over to Villeneuve for an afernoon chill out session in the sun.
Meanwhile back at HQ the remainder of the activities team where busy on some training! For the morning session Brodie (our mountain biking expert) lead everyone around the woodland teaching them new techniques and tricks to pass on to our lucky campers later this week during their mountain biking session! After lunch they dived straight into some soft skills training, what a busy day!
We all met back at Camp Suisse HQ for a Green Thai Curry followed by Chocolate yogurt cake, yummy!
Everyone is tired but happy this evening, ready for their beds but excited about the adventure they’re going on tomorrow!
Day One – Strothoff International School!
8th June 2015
This afternoon we welcomed the students of Strothoff International School! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as sunny as it has been with most of the day spent with heavy downpours and storms! This didn’t put the campers off as they dived straight into their first activity, the climbing wall! After they conquered the wall it was time to head down to the accommodation where we gave the campers time to settle in and unpack!
We’re all looking forward to a tasty meal of Burritos and Nachos for dinner and seeing what fun the next week will bring!
Let The Sun Shine Down!

Today the fantastic weather continues as Torgon has rays of sunshine spilling over its mountain top!
Yesterday the staff had a beautiful day spent in the sunshine to take a little chance to relax before our next campers come streaming in tomorrow.
The atmosphere was fantastic for the staff who spent their day in Villeneuve had a picnic over-looking Lake Geneva. They then had a swim in the pool to cool off or splashed around in the lake. The bravest staff members jumped off a sky high diving board into the lake underneath and the more active of us had a go at paddle boarding. The views were breath taking and it was great for us all to experience a hot spot that most of our campers get the chance to visit.
Today the cleaners and catering staff are on a mission to do a deep clean so our chalets and site look perfect for our next arrivals.

Sunshine and Smiles!

What a whirlwind this week has been! All staff had today to relax, unwind and prepare for the week ahead in the glorious sunshine. Some went to Villeneuve, others went climbing, some just slept! We’re all ready and eager to welcome our next lot of campers in and give them the time of their lives!
ÉCOLE INTERNATIONAL DE GENÈVE! Saying Goodbye!
5th June 2015
Today we sadly said goodbye to our first group of campers! What a week it has been!! After boogying all night last night our campers woke up ready for their last day.Groups 6A and 6B stayed at camp to try their hands at Archery and Rock Climbing while groups 6C and 6D finally got to try the sweet delights of the Cailler chocolate factory. They then had lunch in the beautiful old town of Gruyere, where the weather was wonderful! Back at Camp Suisse, groups 6A and 6B had a lunch in the dining room of hot dogs and salad and with full tummies they went to collect their suitcases and pile on to the coach back home. After waving them all goodbye the staff all whipped into action to clean chalets, arrange the equipment and prepare for our next group of campers!
Hosting Ecole International De Genève has made for an absolutely fantastic week and a brilliant start to the summer! Roll on week two!
DAY FOUR – ÉCOLE INTERNATIONALE DE GENÈVE!
4th June 2015
Today was 6C and 6D’s turn to have the glacier experience of a lifetime! They have all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with husky dogs surrounded by the breath taking views. Rosie our senior activity leader did a great talk on the history of the Glacier and had all our campers listening to every word, fun and educational all at the same time! After lunch the group headed down to Martigny and were all really looking forward to the Roman ruins tour after the other campers had told them how great it was. It definitely lived up to their expectations!
Group 6A and 6B had their sport’s day and got involved in lots of sports including football and a big game of Rounders!! Afternoon tea was sent up to them in our very own Camp Suisse truck so they could all have a light refreshment on the football field in the amazing weather!
All of our campers have come back to base today with sun kissed faces as it has been another gorgeous sunny day at Camp Suisse. There is a buzz in the air as rumour has it Chicken Pie is for dinner followed by cookies and ice cream for dessert!! Yummmy! The campers are also anticipating a fun filled evening as they are already talking about dancing the night away at our Camp Suisse DISCO!!
