Session Two – Day Nine – Greens and Yellows
27th July 2015
Kicking the day off with an ArtJam session, the Greens and Yellows created some amazing masterpieces to hang all around the Camp Suisse Centre. Some serious archery skills were displayed later that morning as the campers took to the field to emulate the Prince of Thieves himself… Robin Hood!
After lunch the campers headed to the class rooms for their language lessons in preparation for their entries into the Camp Suisse Language Talent Show.
Evening ents took the form of the infamous Campers Vs. Staff football match. After making a strong play in the first half, the staff were 1-0 up. But, with shocker storming from the campers in the 2nd half, the final whistle was blown and the game ended with the campers walking away with a landslide victory of 6-2!
Sesson Two – Day Eight – Red and Blue Group
26th July 2015
The red and blue group set off bright and early this morning ready for a day on Lake Geneva for a spot of banana boating! Everyone had their fair share of capsized bananas and by lunchtime everyone was soaked! We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming in the lake, playing football and eating ice creams. Despite the weather being a little greyer than we’d hoped there were high spirits all round.
Back at camp, we enjoyed a yummy dinner of tortellini ready for our evening entertainment, Dracula!!
Session Two – Day Seven – Yellow and Green Group
25th July 2015
Today started with a morning of tidying up the rooms and ensuring washing was put away nicely! Then Aleks, our photographer, ran a session of taking group shots! Some were serious but most were silly and everyone had great fun posing! Eventually it was time to head off down the mountain for another sunny day at Parc Adventure! Once we arrived everyone enjoyed a nice packed lunch before it was time to climb the trees. Everyone had a really fun day with lots of screaming being done down the zip wire! Once back at Camp Suisse HQ there was just enough time to get spruced up before heading out for a surprise fancy dinner at Les Caprins, an authentic Italian pizza restaurant!

Session Two – Day Seven – Red and Blue Groups
Today the reds and blues had a relaxed morning cleaning their bedrooms and posing for group photos! The afternoon was spent on a variety of different activities including climbing, art jamming, playing sport and watching a DVD!
A perfect end to top off a busy week, just in time to prepare us for our final week ahead!
Session Two – Day Six – Red Group
24th July 2015
After starting off our day with language lessons, we filled our stomachs with a hearty lunch ready for an afternoon of mountain biking. With there being a few campers that had never ridden bikes before, we split the group and did a master class with the beginners and a skill training session with those with more experience riding.
Those in the beginners triumphed, with Abdul-Kareem managing the completely cycle on his own by the end of the session. Others such as Sidra, Fatma, Sami and Mohamed beamed with confidence after a couple of hours on a saddle. A very proud day for all!
While the beginners we’re learning the ropes, the more advanced group were doing mountain bike drills with Ed and Sam. After putting them through their paces learning the attack position they tackled the track and finally the ride back down to camp.
Casino night went down a treat after another great day at Camp Suisse!
Session Two – Day Six – Blue Group
After a busy morning learning and improving our language skills we went to the sports hall to start a team-building session. We were split into three groups and we had to design a rocket, then build it with different materials! We used plastic bottles, duct tape and cups etc. It was very interesting and even some of the group leaders designed their own! Once we’d finished building activity leader Tom put water into the rockets and we prepared to launch! Then it was time to count down, three, two, one, BLAST OFF!
Once we’d all landed back to earth we had our ‘afternoon tea’ and we headed to the river for our Ghyll scrambling session. We had to go through the river and the water was incredibly cold! It was a great experience, even if it was a wet one!
To round off another fab day we headed to the Camp Suisse casino to play a variety of different games that we all enjoyed!
Session Two – Day Six – Green Group
Today the campers went Ghyll scrambling! They had a fantastic time manoeuvring over rocks and through the water. They worked together to climb over a fallen tree trunk and through a rubber tyre obstacle. We also had a lot of fun splashing each other! The cool water was really refreshing from the hot, sunny day! After our river adventure the green group ate lunch and went to language lessons.
They finished the day with a group game of volleyball!
Session Two – Day Six – Yellow Group
Today the Yellow group had a choice in their activity and each one was so varied, from art jamming to mountain biking and outdoor climbing each one completely different and come with their own challenges whether it be to have the skill and determination to get to the top of the rock face or think of something imaginative to draw on the courtyard.
The climbers were amazing, with some climbers only using our indoor wall this was a completely new experience and one they took to extremely quickly, after a lesson in knots and how to safely belay someone the yellows were up and down like naturals.
While our climbers were doing this some of the other Yellows were listening to some music in the Swiss sunshine and letting their creative minds flow, with colours, drawings, designs and whole waves of imagination being transferred onto the courtyard. It was such a surprise to see what they had been up to when the climbers returned.
Meanwhile Diane’s yellow group were up high in the Swiss Alps on their bikes and being taught some mountain biking skills. The news their is that they were brilliant and it wasn’t long before they were ready to tackle some of the trails!
After all this fun the Yellows went to their language lessons, once again the improvement is incredible and each of them couldn’t wait to tell us what they had learnt at dinner! After this the Yellows were up in the sports hall to play some volleyball and were also given some time to chill out after a brilliant and fun week at Camp Suisse!

Session Two – Day Five – Reds and Blues
23rd July 2015
Today the reds and blues went to the Glacier 3000!
After an early breakfast aqnd a long bus ride we arrived on the glacier. We first started with a guided tour which was followed by sledging and finally the alpine rollercoaster! We even ate lunch at the top and did a quick tour of the gift shop before heading to the swimming pool. Here the campers could swim, make bracelets at base camp, go to the shop or chill on the grass. After making our way back to camp, we had a lovely dinner followed by movie night and hot chocolate, yum!
Session Two – Day Five – Yellow Group
What a fun day at camp for the yellow group!
The kids spent the morning at the football pitches playing football, volleyball and rounders. Some pretty intense competitions were had, with the come back of the day being against Alex’s volleyball team! After a buffet lunch back at camp half the group headed to the river for Ghyll scrambling while the other half stayed at base camp for their very own Apolo 13 mission, rocket building!
After a quick swop of activities we finished off a fantastic day with dinner and the ultimate music quiz!
